Dennis Amachree

Dennis Amachree, holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin (1978), a Master’s degree from the California State University (1980) and the ASIS Certificate for Security Executives from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania (2010) in the United States of America.

Mr. Amachree retired from the Nigerian State Security Services (SSS) as Assistant Director (Investigations & Intelligence) in 1999 and went into Industrial Security, where he worked for Halliburton Energy Services, as Security Manager. In 2006 he was head-hunted into Addax Petroleum Development Company Nigeria Limited as Country Security Manager, responsible for Maritime Security, Executive Protection, Loss Prevention and Security Management. In 2012 he was again head-hunted by the General Electric Company (GE) and hired as the first Senior Regional Security Director for Sub-Sahara Africa. During his years in GE, he traversed Sub-Sahara African countries, building the security infrastructures where GE has footprints. He started the security departments in Angola, South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Cameroun. He retired from GE in 2014 and started Zoomlens Security Solutions, a security consultancy in Lagos.
Mr. Amachree was Chairman of American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International), Nigeria Chapter 206 in 2000. As Chairman of the Chapter his main drive was the recruitment of military and personnel of the Security Services into ASIS. He  was appointed the Regional Vice President (Region 44 – West & Central Africa) in 2006. During this period he planted the ASIS International chapters in Abuja, Nigeria and Accra, Ghana. He also started the first Certified Protection Professional (CPP) ASIS Board Certification Learning Center at Eko Hotel, Lagos which boosted the number of CPPs from 4 in year 2000 to 25 when he left office as RVP. Dennis is a Fellow of many professional security institutions and the current President of the Security Strategic Group (SSG). He has received many awards in the security industry and the Nigerian National Honours Award of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON). Mr. Amachree is married and have children and grand-children.
